Chelsea ratings: Thiago Silva a cut above the rest again as Kai Havertz struggles in disjointed Blues performance – PaintBallBeam.com

WEST HAM came from behind to hold Chelsea to a draw at the London Stadium.

Graham Potter’s side have now won just one out of their last eight games in all competitions.

It had all started so well when the returning Joao Felix volleyed home from close range for his first Chelsea goal.

But former Stamford Bridge star Emerson Palmieri then equalised for West Ham just before the half an hour mark.

And that’s how it finished, with the Hammers well worthy of a point as Potter’s star-studded side failed to click yet again in the 1-1 draw.

Here’s how SunSport’s Andy Dillon rated the Blues…

Kepa Arrizabalaga – 6

Not his busiest day but produced a great one-handed save from Declan Rice late on.

Although West Ham followed up to score it was offside.

And Kepa was not to know when he threw out his left arm to block the powerful effort.

Reece James – 6

Showing signs of regaining that formidable strength and balance on the ball when running that Chelsea rely on so much.

Needs to get to know his forwards more though.

Thiago Silva – 7

Signed a new one year contract and still holding the defence together at the age of 38.

His timing and reading of the game remain as polished as ever.

Benoit Badiashile – 6

Settling in alongside his more experienced defensive partner Silva and is composed and nimble.

But still raw as shown when turned easily by the wily Michail Antonio.

Marc Cucurella – 5

Not enjoying his best run of form at the moment and the Chelsea fans cheered the loudest when he was hooked for Ben Chilwell.

Offers little going forwards.

Enzo Fernandez – 6

The most expensive signing in the country looks assured already after just a week or so to bed in.

The passing is crisp and he sits neatly in the centre of defence.

Shooting is terrible though!

Ruben Loftus-Cheek – 5

A surprise inclusion in the starting line-up and he looked more surprising than anyone.

A strong runner but precious little to help the forwards from all that expended energy.

Noni Madueke – 6

This kid could become a danger to defences.

Cuts in and with a drop of the shoulder puts himself in great scoring positions.

Had a couple of shots but ran out of steam as a dreary game dragged on.

Mykhailo Mudryk – 5

Patchy performance. Shows brief glimpses of speed and agility but has yet to play a full 90 minutes.

Still needs to deliver on that £88 million transfer fee.

Joao Felix – 6

Class finish for the opening goal on the volley.

Looks a real threat as the new-look Chelsea forward line gets to know each other.

Was also narrowly offside in the tenth minute when he scored having hit the post.

Kai Havertz – 5

Not a centre forward but with so many newly-signed wingers at Chelsea there may not be room for him elsewhere in the team so he should get used to it.

Quite clumsy in his tackling.

Substitutes

Hakim Ziyech (on for Mudryk, 66 mins) – 5

Whipped in a couple of half decent crosses but this was a disjointed Chelsea performance.

Mason Mount (on for Madueke, 66 mins) – 6

Unable to bridge that yawning gap between midfield and the so-called forwards.

Ben Chilwell (on for Cucurella, 66 mins) – 5

Spent most of his 24 minutes on the back foot as West Ham mounted late pressure.

Conor Gallagher (on for Loftus-Cheek, 79 mins) – 5

Thrown on as a final act to try to inject some life into flatlining Chelsea.
